Day Twenty-One: Last Day of Week 3

Today started off better. We had a plan of what to do, and we were going to follow it. We didn’t have very many kids in the morning, so we just played some card games and hangman. We finally started our scheduled activity right as I was going on break. When I came back from break, it was time for our Family Amazing Race. I had volunteered to help with it because I hadn’t had the opportunity to work on it before and I wanted to know how. It was a lot of fun sending the families away to find their clues, and then watch them try to do the challenges. Then we started noticing that the last half of the groups had not checked in in a long time. Turns out that some of the annoying teenagers had stolen the envelope and gotten rid of it. Ugh. Well that kind of ruined it for a lot of the other families but we gave them a consolation prize any way. After the Amazing Race was over, we headed back to the Kid’s Club and did some t-shirt decorating.

I took my break and then headed back for our weekly pajama party. When I got there, Averey, the 2-year old who sat on my lap at Bollywood, was crying. I picked him up and walked a little with him, the whole time with his head on my shoulder and eyes falling shut. We decided to put on a “Dora” tape for him to watch, but he was asleep before it started. There were a couple other criers who were pulled out, so we watched “Dora” and then went to color. Averey slept on my shoulder for about and hour and a half until he woke up. Even then, he didn’t want to do anything, was dead weight, and lying on my shoulder for the next 2 hours. I eventually put him down, and not long after I did he fell asleep on a rug on the floor.

We did okay on tips this week, but the week before was better. After we split it all up and got our embarkation duties, I went downstairs with Croc to talk to his family for a little bit. After that I headed to the Second City show with the new cast. We only got to see one sketch and it wasn’t very good. When we talked to other people who saw the entire show, they said it was absolutely hilarious but that the last sketch was not very good. After the show we went to the Crew Bar for a little bit before I called it a night. I can’t believe 3 weeks have already passed!
