Long Time, No Write.

It's funny...when I'm reading other people's blogs and they don't have something new every day I get very upset. Here I go over three weeks without a post. Well...what started as a way to talk about the house is similar to where the house is...did that make sense? I mean that I haven't written in a while and people havent looked in a while. Oh well. We're not in an emergency situation, but it would be nice for this all to be over with and for us to be able to find somewhere new.

Other stuff...I'm working toward an AWESOME summer job. I'll keep things posted as I find them out. I tried to do this last summer (so if you knew what that was it's no secret), but it looks more likely this summer!

We opened SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK LIVE TOO! tonight (or yesterday if you're looking at the time and date. I still consider it "tonight" since I haven't gone to bed). It went pretty well! Only a few mistakes, a small crowd, but pretty good for the most part. Then we went to cast party/karaoke. Didn't know it would be karaoke, but we had a BLAST! I just love when Gabe sings "Fancy."

Good night/morning! More soon hopefully!

No House News...more snow days.

So, I do loves me some snow days. How great is it to have Carla or Jenny call me and tell me to go back to bed. Sleep in and get to see the Price is Right and of course...MATLOCK! And then there is the chinese food and having the house to myself. Now, these last two may seem odd, but part of Jim's job involves plowing and salting the parking lots where he works. So when a big winter storm is coming, Jim and Ron go into overtime. Not a big deal the first time it happened...I made them cookies and sent them on their merry way.

Jim has begun to hate snow lately. It exhausts him and he hates being gone so much time. We've added a new tradition that helps though...chinese food. That helps make things better; he and Ron pick me up in the macho truck to eat and spend some time together.

Well, this most recent snow was particularly rough on him. On Monday he worked normal 4 am to 12 noon. He came home and took an anticipatory nap. He was called in to work at 2 pm. NOTHING was happening. NOTHING happened until the next morning, but whatever. He worked from 2 pm on Tuesday, all day Wednesday, until he thought 8 am Thursday. That means sleeping on a futon in the garage, showering at work, and literally not coming home at all. Ick.

To add to it, rather than heading home at 8 am today, his parents called him at 6:30 with a pseudo-emergency. Nothing for you all to worry about, but enough that he had to drive over an hour to get to their house (no, he still hasn't slept at this point). He finally got home around 10 am and got to get some sleep. He slept until 4:30ish when he had to get ready for rehearsal. Needless to say, he went to bed as soon as we got home.

As my mom would say, "poor Jimmy."

Open House

So our first Open House was on Saturday. There were 5 groups of people who came through. All in all, not too bad for a first week. Hopefully things will just keep getting better. We went and looked at 5 houses after. None of them really stuck out while we were there, but 3 of them were pretty nice. After we talked about it later, there was one that Jim really liked. The reason I knocked it off my list was that the owners 1) were there when we looked (the woman was asleep in bed. She was sick. Good reason, but still weird.); 2) they were smokers; and 3) they had a dog and multiple cats. I don't like pets in general (you all can have yours, but I don't want them in my home) and these were dirty pets. I'm talking two full litter boxes and a tarp on the floor for the rest. Ick. The more I thought about it, the more I started to like the actual house. We may go back. And as long as I can hire someone to do some major cleaning, afford new carpet, and get rid of all the ick, it may be a possibility. We'll see!
