Day Seven: End of Week 1

Well, today was the last day of my first week! I am still very happy that I’ve been able to take this opportunity. It has been a total blast so far.

Today was a long day. It was a 10 hour workday and the kids were totally on a roll. They were stuck on the ship again and it was the last day of their fabulous vacations. It was madness. Mika, our crazy party girl, was all over the place fighting, hitting, and biting. But ultimately, she was a cutie. We did a lot of fun activities including decorating t-shirts and having a pajama party. Yes, I got to wear PJs to work. Sort of PJs, anyway. My PJs are a shirt and shorts, but the shorts are too short for kid’s crew so I wore a pair of yoga pants and I had to wear my sneakers since I don’t have any slippers here. Hm. One more thing I don’t have that I have MORE than enough of at home. Yes, that does mean that I don’t need slippers for any holiday in the near or distant future. In case you were checking your lists.

This week was Mango’s last week, so we all went to the comedy sketch show put on by Second City tonight and then went to Dazzles for drinks. I didn’t stay there very long; I’ve been tired and have to get up early tomorrow

So tomorrow starts a new group and a new week of duties. I’ll be working with the 6-9 group next week. Yee-haw! I finally felt like I understood the 2-5’s and now I’m moving. Oh well. C’est la vie!
